What I offer

I offer flat-rate monthly bookkeeping and related services for Canadian sole proprietors and small businesses using QuickBooks Online. All services are remote. All prices are in Canadian dollars, taxes not included.

Not offered: Payroll processing, tax preparation or filing, financial projections, or estimates. If you need any of those, I'll point you toward the right professional.

Who I work with

Service-based sole proprietors and small businesses across Canada with straightforward, ongoing bookkeeping needs.

Indie creators & publishers

I'm a published author myself. I understand KDP royalties, Ingram statements, Draft2Digital payouts, and the financial picture of a creative business.

Freelancers & self-employed creatives

Editors, designers, photographers, and other self-employed people who need someone to keep things clean and CRA-ready.

Local NL small businesses

Trades, tourism operators, small retailers across Newfoundland and Atlantic Canada. You know your business. I know your books.

Sole proprietors

Running everything yourself and bookkeeping keeps falling to the bottom of the list? That's exactly what I'm here for.

Common questions

Do I need to already have QuickBooks?
No. I can help you get set up on QuickBooks Online as part of onboarding. If you already have an account, I'll be added as your accountant so we both have access. QuickBooks Online is required — I don't work with Desktop or other platforms.
What's included in the monthly bookkeeping?
Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, transaction categorisation, chart of accounts management, monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reports, and two scheduled check-ins per month. Anything outside agreed scope is billed at the hourly rate or declined. View the full pricing guide for complete details.
Do you work remotely?
Yes, entirely. I'm based in Newfoundland and serve clients across Canada. Everything runs through QuickBooks Online, so your location is never an issue.
How do you handle HST?
I track HST as part of your monthly bookkeeping so your records are accurate and ready for remittance. I don't file returns — that's your accountant's job — but your books will be in order for whoever does. If your revenue is approaching the $30,000 threshold for mandatory HST registration, I'll flag it.
What if my books are already behind?
Cleanup work is available at my hourly rate with a non-refundable deposit, at my discretion, and only for clients moving to a monthly retainer. We'll assess the backlog during intake and scope the work before anything starts.
How do I pay?
Monthly invoices are sent through QuickBooks Payments, which accepts credit cards and other payment methods. Invoices are due within 10 days. A late fee applies after 10 days; service may be suspended after 15+ days of non-payment.
What types of businesses do you work with?
Service-based sole proprietors and small businesses — indie creators, freelancers, trades, tourism, small retail. I don't work with businesses that require payroll processing, inventory management, or complex multi-entity structures.
Do you offer payroll?
No. Payroll is not a service I offer. If you need payroll support, I can point you toward the right resource.

Who's behind this

I'm Rosalyn Roy — a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor and an award-winning former journalist based in Newfoundland. I know how important it is to keep clean records, and I built this practice because small business owners shouldn't have to panic at tax time.

I keep a small roster of clients so every account gets real attention. When you work with me, you're not a file number in a busy firm.

Indie creators and self-employed people are a particular focus. As a published author myself, I understand KDP royalties, Ingram Spark statements, Draft2Digital payouts, and what a creative business actually looks like on the books. Most bookkeepers don't. I do.
